Our Ministries

PVC Kids

(Babies-6th Grade)

Sunday Morning Kids Bible Study

We offer classes for children grades 1-6 at 9:15-10:15 a.m.. every Sunday morning. Children are taught about God by one of our hard working, childcare approved volunteers. The curriculum that we utilize is called The Gospel Project. For more information about this curriculum you can visit the Gospel Project Website.

Sunday Morning Family Worship Service

One thing we feel is unique at Pleasant Valley Church is that we encourage children, 1st grade and older, to join us in our 10:30 a.m. Worship Service. We believe that this is a great opportunity for parents and children to worship together and it can open conversations about what is being taught and practiced.

Sunday Morning Childcare

For younger children, we offer childcare during Bible Study Hour (9:15 a.m.) and Worship Service (10:30 a.m.). This is for babies at least six weeks old all the way to kindergarten. All of our childcare volunteers have gone through an application and approval process, so you know you are leaving your child in safe hands.

Wednesday Night TeamKID

Our Wednesday night program is a Christ-centered time designed to help children grow in their knowledge and love for the Lord. Each week from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., children from babies through sixth grade study God’s Word, sing together, learn about missionaries and God’s work around the world, and enjoy recreation in the gym. Every session is intentionally structured to nurture young hearts in the Gospel while providing a fun, safe, and engaging environment.

Vacation Bible School

Our biggest event for children at PVC is Vacation Bible School. Each year, in the summer we offer an action packed, gospel teaching, fun filled week for kids ages 4 through 6th grade. The kids get to make crafts, play games, here biblical teaching, have snack, and sing fun songs! We love having lots of kids come out each year to join in the excitement.

Students

(7th-12th Grade)

Sunday Morning Student Bible Study

Students in grades 7-12 are invited to join our gathering on Sunday mornings, 9:15-10:15 a.m., located in the student room. We pray for and support each other while following a Bible study curriculum that helps apply the text of Scripture to our daily lives. Any questions, please contact Pastor Jack.

Wednesday Night Student Group

Students in grades 7-12 are invited to join our gathering on Wednesday nights, 6:30-7:30 p.m., located in the student room. We fellowship over games and snacks before variously studying books of the Bible verse by verse, considering biblical answers to life’s big questions, or exploring a book that seeks to apply the Gospel to real life. Any questions, please contact Pastor Jack.

Special Events

Throughout the year, our student group has opportunities to fellowship, serve, and go on mission together. In all this we seek to grow as Christ’s disciples as we fulfill the Great Commission.

Adults

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

We offer Sunday morning classes for adults 9:15-10:15 a.m.. These classes are designed specifically to help you learn more about God while connecting with others who might be in a similar stage of life. These classes cover a variety of topics, but they all have a few things in common: they are biblically based, they are designed to help you connect with others, and they are open to anyone who would like to join. So whether you are a seasoned Christian or someone investigating the Christian faith, you’re invited.

Keep in mind that we have childcare for the youngest guests and classes for everyone else: preschool, elementary and teens.

Wednesday Night Prayer

We believe that prayer is at the foundation of everything we do as a church. For this reason, we gather together every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in the worship center. This is also a time to praise God for what he has done and to lift up our requests to Him.

Deacon Family Ministry

We have a wonderful group of people who are on the ‘frontlines’ of caring for our people, and these men are our deacons. Together, they are available for every member of the church. They pray for the members, they help during challenging times, they make home and hospital visits and more. When you become a member of Pleasant Valley Church, you have a deacon assigned to you in order to help you become more connected.

Food Distribution

On the third Wednesday of every month, we have our Food Distribution. Through this we are able to provide a resource to get food for those in need in our community through the Cleveland Food Bank. This is a great way to reach out to the community and to serve alongside other people from the church. Preparation is 3:00-4:00 p.m. and food distribution is 4:00-6:00 p.m..

Connect Groups

A Connect Group is an intentional gathering of church members embodying Jesus to one another around food, sharing life together, prayer, and sermon-based discussion. As these groups grow together, they support each other on the journey of discipleship, as we behold and become more like Jesus. This is an integral part of the church’s mission, as summarized in Colossians 1:28: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.”

We limit our Connect Groups to members of the church, as we are trying to foster a depth of fellowship where lives are being shared, sins are confessed, and healing and growth in the Gospel are taking place. Connect Groups have a one-year commitment (September—August), after which time people are free to switch, if desired. There are groups available in geographically diverse areas around the church, meeting at different times of the week. If you or another member have questions about Connect Groups, please contact Pastor Jack.

Women’s Ministry

Our Women’s Ministry meets periodically for breakfasts, bible studies, times of prayer and other activities. Check the events calendar for more information.

Men’s Ministry

Our Men’s Ministry Breakfast happens the first Saturday of every month at 8:00 a.m.. This is great place for men to connect with one another and encourage each other in their walk with Christ.
