Genesis 27:1-25 shows what happens when God’s people stop trusting His promises and begin trusting their own preferences, plans, and fears. Through Isaac, Rebekah, and Jacob, we see the danger of trying to control what God has already promised—and are reminded to trust God’s promises, trust His sovereignty, and ultimately trust in Christ.
